It was opened by the late millionaire Robert Holmes à Court in the 70s – today, an impressive 3000+ pieces make up the collection.One-third is comprised of the finest collection of bark paintings by Indigenous artists (very interesting and unique), whilst the remaining two-thirds includes Australia’s leading contemporary artworks, and touring exhibitions.
