Aquarium of Western Australia
Enjoy an unforgettable underwater experience where you can tour through underwater tunnels as huge stingrays, turtles, fish and sharks glide over you – the brave can even snorkel or dive with the sharks! AQWA takes you on an underwater expedition to explore the astonishing marine life of Western Australia. Since 1988 it has remained Western Australia’s number one marine attraction. Take in 40 spectacular exhibits including one of the largest living coral reef exhibits in the world. It’s also the 10th largest aquarium in the whole world – in total it holds 4 million litres of water, and is home to over 4,000 fish.
Swan Valley Wine Cruise
Spend an entertaining day cruising along the beautiful Swan Valley, sipping superb wines and eating as you take in the views. Cruise to the upper reaches of the river and go wine tasting at the wineries, and then top it off by eating lunch at a riverside restaurant. Soon after you board, morning tea is served, followed by cheese and biscuits, and then a taster of premium wines. After, you’ll cruise to the upper reaches of the Swan and land at the esteemed Sandalford Estate. You’ll sample and have the opportunity to buy the wines you liked best. Finally, you’ll cruise back to the Waters Edge Winery, where you’ll enjoy a delectable lunch at the waterfront restaurant that overlooks the river. Put you’re feet up and relax to the music performed by the restaurant’s pianist.
Holmes à Court Gallery
If you’re a culture vulture, then visit the idyllically placed gallery by the river, the Holmes à Court. It was opened by the late millionaire Robert Holmes à Court in the 70s – today, an impressive 3000+ pieces make up the collection.One-third is comprised of the finest collection of bark paintings by Indigenous artists (very interesting and unique), whilst the remaining two-thirds includes Australia’s leading contemporary artworks, and touring exhibitions.
